The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is supported on the reverse with an old glue lining. The pigment layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has yellowed with age. There is a tiny pigment loss at the lower right corner and a tiny depression at the upper right corner. Under natural light, there are scattered areas of touch-up visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light is largely hindered by an opaque varnish. The work can be hung in its present state and is offered with a simple giltwood frame.
